In its 57th year, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts is proud to present this year’s parade theme, “Jingle Bell Jamboree,” and it will surely light up the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk with holiday colors and festivities.

HOLLYWOOD, FL – The City of Hollywood will host the second annual Veterans Day Barbecue on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at T.Y. Park, Corporate Pavilion # 12, 3300 N. Park Rd, Hollywood from noon to 4 p.m. to honor men and women who serve or have served in the United States Armed Forces. Mayor Peter Bober and member of the Hollywood City Commission will join with volunteers to serve a free barbecue lunch to attendees.

HOLLYWOOD, FL - The City of Hollywood's Department of Public Utilities will begin its annual water line flushing program on Monday, October 15, 2012. This program will continue through Sunday, November 18, 2012. The annual water line flushing program is mandated by the Broward County Department of Health to help rid the water lines of any accumulated sediment.

The event will be held on Wiley Street between South 56th Avenue and South 57th Avenue in front of the new housing development.

HOLLYWOOD, FL – The City of Hollywood remains under a Tropical Storm Warning and anticipates tropical storm force winds along with heavy rains will be affecting our area by late morning Sunday. The City of Hollywood’s Emergency Management team is working in conjunction with Broward County Emergency Management to closely monitor the development of the storm. The National Hurricane Center is currently forecasting the storm to strengthen to Category 1 hurricane Sunday morning, with the center of circulation in the Florida Straits.

HOLLYWOOD, FL – City of Hollywood residents who would like to destroy unwanted receipts, personal and business records, and other documents are invited to shred up to 10 boxes of paperwork free of charge at the west side parking lot of Hollywood City Hall on Saturday, August 18 from 8 a.m. to noon or until the disposal truck reaches capacity. Proof of Hollywood residency is required.

The event will take place Friday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fire Station 40, 707 South Ocean Drive on Hollywood Beach.
