| Apollo Middle School - STEM/Aeronautics Grade 6-8 Principal’s Welcome: I am extremely pleased to have welcomed all our STEM-tastic Rocket students back to campus. It has been great seeing our students excited and eager to return to in-person learning. We have many amazing opportunities and programs available to all of our students. We welcome families and community members to join us on a school tour. Our parent and community partnerships are very important to us. We work hard to keep open lines of communication with our Apollo community. School Narrative: Apollo Middle School is a nationally recognized STEM magnet demonstration school that services roughly 1,300 students. Our students explore aeronautics, gain 21st century technology and computer skills, compete nationally, fly drones, and so much more. Our Cambridge Magnet Program provides students with a global perspective, affording students 21st century skills and a world-known education. This program prepares students for the high school Cambridge program – a pathway to academic scholarships! Students at Apollo are extremely well-rounded. In addition to rigorous curriculum, our students engage in a wide range of athletic and art programs. Student scholars show their prowess on and off the field, while talented students showcase their visual, musical and dance abilities through our art classes. Apollo Middle School provides our Rockets with out of this world experiences and opportunities that allow students to reach for the stars and prepare for an unknown, but exciting, future. |
| Attucks Middle School - Communications Magnet Grade 6-8 Principal’s Message: Attucks Middle School is a small but dynamic international learning community with a strong belief in excellence for every student, every day, and I am excited to be its new principal.
Attucks offers a whole-school Cambridge Magnet Program that provides a pathway designed for extremely academically motivated students. We encourage students to be confident, reflective, responsible and innovative learners and I am proud to be leading this charge with an amazing group of students and a highly talented instructional staff.
As a commitment to exceeding you and your child’s expectations for the start of their secondary education, I invite you to visit us as I know you will love it at Attucks Middle, Home of the Eagles. - Cassandra Adderley, Principal School Narrative: As a whole school Cambridge Academy, faculty is trained in Cambridge strategies, project-based and social-emotional learning. The result are student-centered, rigorous, and engaging classes. Our educators have been recognized by the state, district and other organizations like REEL and Global Scholars for their dedication and passion.
Students at Attucks Middle truly interact with the content and utilize skills learned. They participate in and excel in debate competitions, literacy and science fairs, band performances, journalism competitions, television and media production events, art competitions, and sport events. Currently, all scholar athletes achieved A or B Honor Roll and most participate in our Mentoring Tomorrow’s Leaders program where they tutor younger peers and help them advocate for themselves. In the various sports, they hold division championship titles in several arenas. Most recent literacy fair and debate students have achieved first place in the district in various categories and have frequently placed in the top 10. Additionally, student-created work include websites, art, TED Talks, podcasts, short films, presentations, Kahoots, etc., that are shared with each other or with parents and staff at various events.

Principal’s Message: It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as Nancy Long, the Principal of Beachside Montessori Village. I am honored to be part of this family and with my Montessori background feel like this is where I belong. My transition to Beachside has been seamless and I look forward to working with the staff and community to continue educating children using the Montessori philosophy and curriculum.
At B.M.V., we strive to create a safe environment where grace, courtesy and kindness prevail. We pride ourselves on appreciating differences in people, customs, cultures and practices. Respect for the environment and one’s self are paramount as we develop the whole child and focus on creating life-long learners.
The partnership of our school staff, families and community members will provide our students with engaging and exciting learning opportunities. Together I hope we will watch our students grow and flourish. - Ms. Long, Principal School Narrative: Beachside Montessori Village is so happy to welcome our new Principal, Nancy Long. Ms. Long comes to us with many years of experience as a former Montessori teacher and administrator. Ms. Long has been with Broward County Public Schools for 20 years as a teacher and 9 years as an Assistant Principal. She is very excited to be a part of the Beachside Montessori family and enjoyed meeting many of our families at both Meet and Greet and Open House. Since Ms. Long is a certified Montessori teacher, she has stated that her career has come full circle as she finds herself continuing to ensure the Montessori philosophy is infused with the public-school curriculum in order to meet the needs of all of our students. Beachside Montessori Village has once again earned an “A” rating for the 2020-2021 school year. We see this as quite an accomplishment on the part of our teachers considering all of the compromising factors due to the pandemic. Our teachers and staff have persevered during these unprecedented times. We are looking forward to bringing back the infusion of project-based learning and a hands-on Montessori approach to teaching and learning this year. Our school community has done an excellent job coming together to create a safe and productive learning environment for our students.
