Communications, Marketing and Economic Development

The Office of Communications, Marketing and Economic Development provides residents and business owners with important information about the City, including programs, services, events, and emergency notifications.

Experienced communications professionals works behind the scenes to develop and disseminate City messaging that effectively communicates City events, goals, accomplishments, and projects. Staff works each day to bring fresh new ideas and perspectives to City initiatives and programs while providing public relations support to all City departments. The team keeps the City's website up-to-date and posts multiple times daily to our social media accounts. 
 
Our team also includes a creative group of graphics designers who are experienced in designing graphics for video, print and collateral pieces for all city departments and divisions. Our video production specialists bring quality, informative local programming to residents using video as their medium. 

In October 2017 the team also accepted the role of supporting and advancing the City's Economic Development initiatives. Learn more about the City's Economic Development initiatives here.

News Conferences



The Office holds news conferences on City issues, programs, and events; issues news releases and public advisories; and works with media members and other government and private sector public affairs representatives. Staff is also responsible for producing or reviewing all City publications and brochures, including the New Horizons quarterly newsletter.

Broadcast Coverage of Events



The office’s Video Production and Broadcast Services Unit provides live cable television coverage of City Commission meetings, workshops, and Community Redevelopment Agency meetings.

The team also handles film permit requests in the City of Hollywood.
